Qualification Description

This qualification is designed to meet the needs of builders and managers of small to medium-sized building businesses.

Entry & Admission Requirements
  • Applicants must be aged 18 or above
  • To assist prospective students to determine if the course is suitable and appropriate for their individual needs, Pretraining Review (PTR) will be conducted.
  • Successful completion of BCTA’s Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) test.

PCCBC4053 Apply building codes and standards to the construction process for Class 2 to 9 Type C buildings.

CPCCBC4001 Apply building codes and standards to the construction process for Class 1 and 10 buildings.

This course is delivered with a weekly class (conducted virtually in a real-time classroom environment through MS Teams). You need to set aside 10 hours per week for self-study and 5 hours for Assessment work. In weekly class, your trainer will facilitate a range of Training experiences including:

  • - Trainer led instruction
  • - Discussion and debate
  • - Group Training activities
  • - Case studies
  • - Role plays

This Training is delivered with Victorian Government Funding for eligible students.

From 1 January 2023, you need to meet these requirements to be eligible for Skills First subsidised training:

Citizenship

You must be:

  1. an Australian citizen, or
  2. an Australian permanent resident, or
  3. a New Zealand citizen.
Physical location

You must be physically present in Victoria while participating in training and assessment.

Course limits

Skills First funding is limited to:

  1. Two courses at a time
  2. Two courses in a year.
