Qualification Description

The aim of the 22338VIC Certificate II in Building and Construction Pre-apprenticeship is to provide learners with basic industry-specific skills and knowledge to enable transition into an apprenticeship within the building and construction industries at the Certi fi cate III level.

Duration and Delivery Arrangements

This program is to be delivered off the job in a classroom and a carpentry workshop and includes 120 hours of work placement (3 weeks). Classroom delivery will be for 2 days per week for 30 weeks, giving a total delivery time of 33 weeks.

Entry and Admission Requirements

Learners enrolling in the 22338VIC Certi fi cate II in Building and Construction Pre-apprenticeship would be expected to have minimum LLN skills that align to Level 2 of the ACSF in order for them to successfully undertake the qualification.

Government Funded (Amount to be paid by the student = $0)

  • This Training is delivered with Victorian Government Funding for eligible students. To be eligible, you must be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen, or have a permanent residency visa, and be ‘upskilling’ by seeking to enrol in a higher-level course than what you already hold. This may impact on your access to further government-subsidised training in future.

Non-Government Funded

  • $7237.50 (Flexible Payment Plans available)

Employment Outcome

The combined skills and knowledge of the pre-apprenticeship course do not provide for a job outcome as a qualified tradesperson as this course is intended to prepare individuals for further training.

Pathways to Further Study

Learners who successfully complete the Certificate II in Building and Construction Pre-apprenticeship may undertake further training in the Certificate III in Carpentry (CPC30211)
